Facebook has a vast user base. But how do you go about fully monetizing them? Sure Fan Pages generate a lot of revenue. But is that all you could be doing? Or does trying new things risk breaking the Facebook experience?

Our solution used Facebook’s Social Graph to imagine new types of engagement that would work with, rather than against, the essentially social, collaborative nature of the Facebook. Ones that would enhance rather than subtract from the Facebook experience. While allowing advertisers connect with their audience in new, fruitful ways. These broke into three categories:

This suite of ideas - which I conceived with Art Director John Gordon - won AKQA the Facebook Award for Innovative Marketing Solutions. And just as importantly, it gave me the opportunity to work on new types of challenges. And come up with different types of answers.
